-Jimmy Sharp-

It only took one look for Jenna to break all my rules. When she wiggled out of that dressing room in nothing but a leather belt as a skirt, it wasn't her lack of clothes that caught my attention, it was her. She could have been dressed as Santa Claus, it wouldn't have made a damn difference, because she's the one - My one. All my life I've lived for the music, carefree and answering to no one - until her. I will do anything for her. If only she would just give me a chance.

-Jenna O'Hare-

I'm an idiot. A gobsmacked fool. I let my hormones run away with me and had the most intense one night stand with world famous rock star, Jimmy Sharp. Just when I thought there might be something more than lust brewing between us, I accidentally caught a glimpse into his private life. He's absolutely crazy if he thinks I'll be ok with his lifestyle! There is no way I could realistically be with someone like him. I won't - I can't - let myself get sucked in. I just know he'll break my heart if I do.

Rock My Beat is a bad boy erotic romance with lots of steamy and detailed passionate scenes for the adult reader.

Rock My Beat A Bad Boy Rock Star Romance Infernal Machines Book 1 edition by Everly Bloom Literature Fiction eBooks

My recent absolute favorite type of read is rock star romance and I have read a lot of them, just can't get enough of them. I rarely leave reviews but rock star romances lately have been giving me an itch to write something. Jenna and James, hmm, well, this had the potential to be great but James was way too over the top alpha. He was instantly obsessed with her after his past consisted of no previous relationships but of only hired professionals for sex because he is a famous rock star. His ridiculous obsession reaction toward Jenna was just a tad too much from their first encounter especially since it was never explained why he felt this strong feeling to possess her in every way, every second of his day.

Jenna, I just can't stand a weak, wishy washy heroine. She gave in too easily to his overpowering, obsessive behavior where she was concerned. Things got brushed under the rug easily once he kissed or touched her. These two were not very young so it makes it harder to swallow.

Then, leaving Stacey, who obviously is in love with "Jimmy" (James), just leaving it okay for us to just assume and guess after reading Jenna's thoughts and correct assessments, is not cool. Jessica? She most certainly did send over that professional male to Jenna and when she confronted James about it and he doubted her (trust) after he attacked that said man, once again nothing came of it. I need answers and to feel complete, satisfied once I reach the last page not just I love you, we're on a plane headed to the next show and what is this exactly a HFN? With their relationship that doesn't work. These two were on and off from the first day, he did something one hour, she ran...a lot. This author should have given us something more than I love you, etc. Confrontations and resolving other important issues that were brought forward should have occurred but she failed to do so. I don't like feeling unsettled at the end of a read and worse this is forgettable, I doubt I'll purchase the next book in this series. The sex was waaaaaay too much and I love hot and steamy, really I do, (erotica reads I enjoy, too), but when it's every other page and issues aren't being handled and the ending seems rushed then it becomes distasteful for me. I mean no disrespect to this author because there was good potential here, I was so hopeful. I recommend that if she hasn't read these great rock star reads yet, she should give them a try: The BackUp Series, AM Madden, The Devil's Share, LP Maxa, Stage Dive Series, Kylie Scott, Rock The Dream, BB Miller and Leslie Carson (an excellent read IMO, a personal favorite). There's so many others I can list but most were unforgettable.

Good story, meh, needs more depth. Sexy, some but definitely way over the top. Threesomes, no. Cliffhanger, no. HEA or HFN, neither in my opinion just happy for the hour. Hero and heroine, both immature for their age, especially him if I remember correctly, he's 32. I probably will try another book from this author...just because I'm curious if it will get better. Do you I recommend this? I'm sorry, but no.

This is my personal opinion, I was not asked or given a copy for review.

Rock My Beat A Bad Boy Rock Star Romance Infernal Machines Book 1 edition by Everly Bloom Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I really loved this book! It was a quick, but not too quick read. The rockstar was a great balance of dirty/filthy and sweet and the heroine was amusing, strong, and frustrating. Ok, that doesn't sound appealing, but I kind of liked her! Even her freak out moments, although numerous were a little over the top which made me like them more (?). The author told a great story that I couldn't put down. Aside from some grammar/typo/spelling/word use issues, the book is really great and deserves a read! I am checking out her other books now!
Loved it. I think it honestly had a little too much sex and it started to get repetitive. This is supposed to be a romance novel not an erotica. I like what I know about the characters and wish there was a little more character building so I understood them more even more. Otherwise really great read. I would like to know where is book 2?
Although my favorite stories are rocker themed, this is a first for me and this particular author.

A big THUMBS UP for Ms Bloom !

Not easy for me to come upon an unusual story line when I read so many books in the same genre, but this author accomplished just that.

Have to say this book had me laughing my ass off, pacing the floor pissed off, swooning multiple times, and crying like a big baby more than I want to admit.

You will absolutely fall in love with Jenna, probably want to smack some sense into Jimmy, but fall deeply in love with them both.

MUST READ!
This is a story that I loved every minute of while I was reading it but now that I'm going back over it in my mind, I wonder why. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing it. It's just that I thought Jenna was a total mess. She was juvenile in her reactions, and I don't know why she responded the way she did. It was never explained. Was it low self esteem or simple jealousy? I don't know. And Jimmy gives a whole new meaning to possessive and controlling. I'd really like an epilogue or another book featuring these two because I wonder if they would kill each other. They fought as passionately as they had sex and there was a lot of steamy sex. The story was also full of humor, drama, angst, and romance and Jenna and Jimmy has sizzling chemistry that jumps off the page. This book did make me believe in love at first sight. I would love to see Dean and Jake get their own books because after all the crap they were put through because of Jenna and Jimmy they deserve their HEAs too. Read with KU.
good read
I read this book in one day, not able to put it down.
Though I wouldn't say it's perfect I still really loved these characters and it was an interesting and different story.
I liked the characters overall and found them well developed, but I didn't like many of their actions.

There is a lot of drama and angst present.

Jenna literally runs away the minute something happens that she doesn't like, without attempting to find out the truth; she is not a very strong heroine. Jimmy is obsessed and very controlling; he has some sweet moments but most of the time he is growling at or beating up anyone who even looks at Jenna.

The writing was good and I found certain scenes to be humorous and interesting, but this book does not portray a healthy relationship. I was distracted from enjoying the story by worry about what fight they would have next and what Jimmy might do next.

Overall, it kept my interest and was a good read, but the type of drama it contained just was not my cup of tea.
